A fix with a way back
Disabling a module or fixing a file is a change like any other: preview, your “yes”, a copy and the history. The exception: you can't undo uninstalling a module, and the chat says so in the preview.

Can it break my store?
Every change has a preview, PHP files are checked before saving, and a copy is made before any file change. You can undo disabling a module and restore a file from its copy.
Will it uninstall a module?
It can, but you can't undo that from the history. The chat marks it as high risk in the preview and suggests disabling the module first.
How long does Service stay on?
3 hours, then the switch turns itself off.
