Your first review and first change
1. Review your site
In a chat, pick the Site review and improvement plan job from the + menu in Claude, or write:
Review my site and tell me what to fix first.
Claude checks SEO, 404 errors, technical health and content, and in a shop the products too. You get a list of fixes, most important first. In TellMyShop Free this is where it ends: Claude shows what to fix and how, but saves nothing.
2. Changes in the Pro version
With an active licence, Claude can save content, SEO and catalogue changes straight away: posts, pages, meta descriptions, categories, media, and in a shop product names, descriptions and images. There's nothing to switch on. The safeguard is the preview and your approval for every change.
3. A small change, then undo it
Write a new meta description for the post "How to choose hiking boots".
Claude shows a preview with the old description and the new one. Ask for as many tweaks as you like. When you're happy, write "yes, save it". Only then does the description reach your site, in your SEO plugin.
Now write "undo that change". Claude shows a preview of the undo, and after your "yes" it restores the previous version. You can also see everything in TellMyShop > Change history.
Good to know
- Bigger jobs (e.g. meta descriptions for 40 posts) work the same way: one preview, one approval, and the whole batch can be undone.
- The plugin records in the history every database row changed during an approved change, including rows other plugins changed along the way. Undo restores all of them. After saving, the plugin checks the result. If another plugin or the theme changed something that wasn't in the preview, Claude shows you the difference and asks what to do about it.
- All ready-made jobs, each with a sample sentence to copy, are in TellMyShop > Start, in the collapsed Ready-made jobs section.
- Standing rules for your site, such as "use British spelling, address readers informally", go in TellMyShop > Settings, in the Your rules for Claude field.
- Prices, coupons and stock in WooCommerce are switched on separately: the Commerce switch in the Saving by area card (the Areas tab). It stays on until you switch it off. A pricing mistake costs money straight away, so the plugin asks you to confirm when you switch it on.
- The theme, plugins and technical work have their own switches in the same card: Theme and Plugins stay on for 24 hours, Service for 3 hours, then they switch themselves off. Before switching one on, the plugin makes a database backup. If you ask for a change in an area that's off, Claude stops at the preview and tells you which switch to turn on.
- The plugin keeps the latest 2 encrypted database backups on your server. You can download them in TellMyShop > Backups, together with restore instructions. Single changes are undone from the change history; the full database is there for emergencies.
- Claude saves new posts, pages and products as drafts. You publish them yourself.
