Example preview
Copy hook/ps_emailsubscription.tpl of module ps_emailsubscription to themes/classic/modules/ps_emailsubscription/views/templates/hook/ps_emailsubscription.tpl (new file). Then edit it with ps_write_theme_file.
Technical details
The recommended way to change how a module looks. action=list shows the module's templates (views/templates/...) and which are already overridden in the theme. action=copy copies a template into the active theme (themes/<theme>/modules/<module>/views/templates/...), where PrestaShop uses it instead of the original. Then edit the copy with ps_write_theme_file (the path is in the result) and clear the cache. The copy survives module updates, unlike direct changes to module files. Copying needs the Theme switch.
Parameters
| Name | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| action | enum: list | copy | yes | list | copy. |
| module | string | yes | Technical module name, for example ps_mainmenu (list: ps_list_modules). |
| template | string | when: action=copy | copy: template path relative to the module's views/templates/, for example hook/ps_mainmenu.tpl. Max 300 characters. |
| confirm | boolean | no | false (default) returns a preview and saves nothing. true executes, only after the user approved the preview, together with change_token. |
| change_token | string | when: confirm=true | Token from the preview. Required with confirm=true. Valid 30 minutes, single use, bound to the previewed arguments and data state. |
Limits
One template per copy. A backup is made (restoring it removes the copy). Counts toward 20 file writes per hour, shared by all file tools (adjustable in the Settings: security, alerts, limits card). After editing: ps_clear_cache.
What you see before anything is saved
Claude first calls the tool without confirming it. The module returns a preview (current and new values) and a single-use token valid for 30 minutes. Claude shows you the preview and saves the change only after your yes.
