Your first change

Do it on a small example, then undo it on purpose. In 5 minutes you'll know nothing gets saved without you.

1. Nothing to turn on

With an active licence, Claude can save content, SEO and catalogue changes straight away: descriptions, Google titles, categories, features and product images. There's no separate switch for this. The safeguard is the preview and your approval for every change.

2. Ask for a small change

Pick something small, like one product:

Write a new Google title and description for the "Terra solar lamp" product.

3. Look at the preview

Claude hasn't saved anything yet. It shows a preview: the old version crossed out and the new one next to it, with character counts. You can ask for tweaks ("shorter", "don't use the word best") as many times as you like.

It works like this for every change: Claude shows what will change, tells you the risk and how to undo it, and asks for your approval. For prices and promotions you get a short risk card. For a small text change, a simple question is enough.

4. Say "yes"

When you're happy with the preview, write "yes, save it". Only then does the change reach your shop, just as if someone on your team had clicked Save in the admin. Your shop shows the new text straight away, and other modules (e.g. a price-comparison feed) see the change.

Your approval is valid for 30 minutes and only for that preview. If someone changes that product in the admin in the meantime, Claude won't save the old proposal and will show you a new preview.

5. Check the history and undo

Ask:

What did you change in my shop today?

You'll see a list of changes with the date and the old value. Now undo it:

Undo that change.

Claude shows a preview of the undo, and after your "yes" it restores the previous version. You'll see the same in the module, in the Change history and undo card.

Good to know

  • Bigger changes (e.g. 40 products at once) work the same way: one preview, one approval, and the whole batch undone with one request.
  • The module records in the history every database row changed during an approved change, including rows other modules changed along the way. Undo restores all of them. After saving, the module checks the result. If something changed that wasn't in the preview, Claude shows you the difference and asks what to do about it.
  • You can give Claude standing rules for your shop, for example "We address customers informally" or "Never use the word cheap". Write them in the Your shop rules for Claude field in the Settings: security, alerts, limits card.
  • A change to a page's address isn't undone with "undo". Instead Claude sets a new address with a redirect from the old one.
  • Prices, promotions and stock are turned on separately once you're comfortable: the Sales switch in the Writing in areas card. It stays on until you turn it off. These changes have extra safeguards: for example, changing a price by more than 30% needs your explicit confirmation.
  • The theme, modules and technical work have their own switches in the same card: Theme and Modules stay on for 24 hours, Service for 3 hours, then they turn themselves off. Before switching one on, the module makes a database backup. If you ask for a change in an area that's off, Claude stops at the preview and tells you which switch to turn on.
  • The module keeps the latest 2 encrypted database backups on your shop's server. You can download them in the Writing in areas card, under Database backups, together with restore instructions. Single changes are undone from the history; the full database is there for emergencies.

Ask for advice

With TellMyShop Pro, Claude also uses the e-commerce advisor know-how built into the module. There's nothing to install. Try asking:

How can I improve the description of my best-selling product?

Claude will answer like an e-commerce advisor, using your shop's data.
