What Claude can do for you

You decide how far Claude can go. The module settings have a few plain switches in the Scope of work and permissions card. Each one opens one area of your shop. The paid licence includes all of them; the switches are there so you stay in control.

Start: read only

After installation Claude can read and report, but not change anything. This is read-only mode. When you want Claude to make changes, go to the Scope of work and permissions card, set Working mode to Read and change and click Save scope of work. Until then you can ask, for example:

Find products without a description.

Which products sold best in September?

Check whether anything is broken in my shop.

Content and SEO

The everyday work. Claude saves changes the same way an employee clicks Save in the back office, so other modules and the search on your shop see a normal edit. Each part (diagnostics, catalog, SEO, pages, blog, sales statistics, history, customer service) has its own tick box. Blog tools appear only if you use the SmartBlog module.

What's new in this version:

  • New products. Claude adds a product from your list, or copies an existing one, as a switched-off draft. You check it and switch it on.
  • Photos. Add photos from a web address, choose the cover photo, change the order.
  • Categories. Create a new category (switched off until you publish it), move a category, change the order of products in it.
  • Translations. Features and their values, attributes like size and colour, brand and supplier descriptions.
  • New pages. A guide, FAQ or campaign page, switched off until you publish it.
  • Products you stop selling. Switch the product off and send visitors to its category or another product (301 or 302 redirect), so you don't lose them.
  • Redirects. Claude lists the redirects in your shop and adds a redirect from an old address that returns "not found" to a page that works, or switches a redirect off and on again. It won't redirect to a missing page or create a chain or loop of redirects. Every redirect can be undone, and redirects stay in place if you uninstall the module (unless you untick "keep"). Adding redirects needs a licence; the free Audit can list them.

What to type:

Write meta descriptions for all products in Sofas. Show me the preview first.

Add these 12 products from my list as drafts in the Lamps category.

Customer service

Claude reads messages from Customers > Customer Service, sums up what each customer wants, and writes a draft reply. Claude never sends anything to a customer. The draft is saved as a private note in the conversation; you or your team read it, edit it and send it from the back office. Claude can also change the status of a conversation, for example to "closed".

This switch works only when customer data access is set to Pseudonymised or Full access (temporary) (see Your customers' data). With Pseudonymised, Claude sees an alias such as "Klient-3f9a1c" instead of a name (the same customer keeps the same alias for one day), and emails and phone numbers are masked.

What to type:

Which customer messages are still waiting for a reply? Draft answers for the three oldest.

Sales

Everything that changes what customers pay. A wrong price costs money quickly, so this switch is off until you turn it on, with a confirmation. Extra safeguards:

  • Claude can't set a price to 0.
  • A price change of more than 30% needs your extra approval.
  • A promotion above 90% off needs your extra approval; above 50% you get a warning.
  • A new discount code is created switched off. You check it, then Claude switches it on.
  • Discount codes can't be deleted, only switched off.
  • Shipping: Claude changes the free shipping threshold and prices in existing carrier price ranges. It doesn't create new carriers.

What to type:

Put 15% off the whole Sofas category from Friday to Sunday.

Set free shipping from 250 PLN.

Tip: turn the switch on for the sale, then off again.

Design and deployment

Theme changes can break a page, so they need a second, separate connector (the service connector) that works only from approved addresses. Before each change the module saves a backup, and any backup can be brought back.

What to type:

Add "Free delivery over 250 PLN" under the price on the product page.

Modules

For you or your developer: Claude can switch a module off and on, install or update a module from a ZIP file, change module settings and edit module files. Before an update or a file change the module makes a backup. Uninstalling a module deletes its data, so Claude asks you to type the module's name first and suggests switching it off instead. Changes to module files are lost when the module is updated; Claude prefers a change in the theme where possible.

Service mode

For developers and agencies. You switch it on for 1, 4, 8 or 24 hours; then it turns itself off. Through the service connector Claude can read and change shop files, read the database, change rows in the database (with a copy of the changed rows, so it can be undone) and change PrestaShop settings. Files with passwords, the connector's own files and customer files stay blocked. Claude can't run its own PHP code; it can only save PHP files, and each one is checked for syntax errors first.

Before you switch on Modules or Service mode, click Generate emergency key in the Technical work (advanced) card. Switching on Modules or Service mode also asks for the purpose of the work (at least 10 characters), which goes to the audit log. If a change ever leaves the shop showing a blank page, you open the rescue address, enter the key, and the module brings back the files it changed and switches service mode off. It doesn't undo database changes.

Ready-made jobs

Ready-made jobs are tested plans you pick from the connector's menu in Claude, or from the Ready-made jobs card in the module. Claude reads first, shows you what it found and what it suggests, then previews each change.

Ready-made jobWhat it does
Check my store and plan the fixesChecks health, SEO, 404 errors and logs, then gives you a list of fixes in order
Product texts and SEO in batchesImproves product texts and SEO, best sellers first, in batches you approve
Categories that sellTurns category pages into useful buying guides
Fix broken linksFinds addresses that lead nowhere and fixes them, or redirects them to the right page
Why can't customers see this product?Finds out why a product doesn't show up or doesn't sell
A product page that sellsReviews one product page and improves it
Set up a promotionPlans and sets up prices and codes for a sale
Tidy up features and filtersFinds duplicate and missing features so filters work
Help and first stepsExplains what Claude can do in your shop and which switches are off
Get ready for Black FridayPlans and prepares prices, promotions, codes and texts for Black Friday
Clean up after a promotionSwitches off codes and sale prices that ended and checks prices are back
New products from a listAdds products from your list as drafts
Translate my storeTranslates products, categories, features and pages into another language
Morning check-inA short daily summary: what sold, what broke, what needs attention

In the free Audit, 4 jobs run in full: Help and first steps, Check my store and plan the fixes, Morning check-in and Why can't customers see this product?. Seven more do the whole analysis and show every change as now and after, but save nothing; you can save those changes in the same chat once you buy a licence. The last 3 (New products from a list, Set up a promotion, Clean up after a promotion) change your store from the first step, so they need a licence and are not in the Audit's menu.

What happens when a switch is off

Claude doesn't see the tools behind it, so it won't offer to do things it can't. If you ask anyway, it tells you which switch to turn on. Switching something off works straight away, even in a conversation that is already open.

  • READ_ONLY is on by default; ToolRegistry::visible() hides write tools while it is on. Without a valid licence the paid package behaves like Audit: Endpoint uses Settings::groupsFor($connector, $this->licensed), so blocks 2–5 are hidden, read-only is forced and the service token is refused. The free Audit package ships without write tools and without blocks 2–5.
  • Disabled blocks and groups are hidden from tools/list; the block is re-checked on every call. The service token is refused when none of blocks 3–5 is active.
  • Switching a group or block on grants the connector employee the matching back-office permissions; switching it off removes them.
  • support (ps_customer_service) refuses to work while customer data access is off; draft_reply saves a private CustomerMessage and sends nothing.
  • Limits (card Settings: security, alerts, limits): hourly limits on calls, writes and file writes, adjustable in that card. A write with a batch of up to 50 items counts as one write. Every preview and write, and ps_get_shop_info, show what is left this hour; ps_check_capacity (core, read, also in Audit) checks a bigger job before it starts.
  • Ready-made jobs: MCP prompts plus the read-only core tool ps_get_ready_job (all 14 jobs). ps_get_ready_job without job lists the jobs (mode "report" where writes are unavailable). ps_list_redirects (group seo) also works in Audit; ps_manage_redirects (group seo, licence) adds up to 100 redirects per call, disables and enables them, has no delete and is undone through the change history. Tool list: Tools reference. Mapping: Specification §4.5.
